In Malawi, due to economic crisis, there is a little happening to end the effects of Gender-Based Violence. Mr Milala also addresses the high illiterate level in Malawi, mainly in rural areas, as a lot of people do not know what the law says and cannot read it. When the court moves to rural areas, it help to deter Gender-Based Violence.

    Marijana Grandits, through her effort and contribution in the fight for human and women's rights, was nominated as an awardee for the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Human Rights in 2015. Mag. Marijana Grandits (Austria) is a living example of true empowerment of women. She joined Ashura Kayupayupa in the Global Dialogue to discuss about gender equality and women's empowerment.

    Marijana Grandits is a co-founder of the Vienna, MA in Human Rights. Equal rights can be realized when women can be accepted without being the more intelligent, beautiful and educated ones. Women should be allowed to be normal like everyone else.

  • Las mujeres en Malvinas

    Poco se sabe de las historias de los combatientes de Malvinas, pero aún menos se conoce sobre las mujeres que fueron a la Guerra. Mujeres no fueron solo las que esperaron a los soldados, sino que existieron las que -comprometidas con la lucha por la soberanía argentina- fueron convocadas por las Fuerzas Armadas para combatir.

    Más de veinte mujeres: comisarios de abordo, enfermeras, instrumentistas quirúrgicas y radioperadoras de los barcos mercantes de la Empresa de Líneas Marítimas Argentina (ELMA), del Comando de Transporte Navales de la Armada Argentina (ARA), cadetas de la Escuela Nacional de Náutica (ESNN) y dotación de los hospitales militares Central y Campo de Mayo (HMC), participaron en operaciones de inteligencia en torno a la isla Ascensión. O sencillamente en buques que buscaron y detectaron a la flota británica en medio del Atlántico u otras, a bordo de los barcos que trasladaban pertrechos entre las localidades de la Patagonia y las Islas Malvinas o que formaban parte del grupo de profesionales de la salud embarcadas en el Buque Hospital Rompehielos ARA “Almirante Irizar.” Compartimos la historia de Alicia Reynoso.
